Vision Statement 2026

Gobion Fawr Community Council envisions a connected, thriving, and sustainable rural community where every resident feels valued, every village is supported equally, and our shared heritage is protected for future generations.

We are committed to championing the wellbeing of our four village halls, ensuring each remains a vibrant, accessible hub for community life. We will continue to support and respect the seven churches and chapels that enrich our cultural and spiritual landscape.

Rooted in our rural identity, we aim to restore and rejuvenate the Bryn bog area, enhancing biodiversity and creating opportunities for education, recreation, and environmental stewardship. We will work closely with local organisations to strengthen community resilience and nurture local initiatives.

Recognising the importance of safe and reliable travel for all residents, we will advocate for significant improvements to the A and B roads that run through our ward. Tackling potholes and poor road surfaces is essential to ensuring better accessibility, safety, and connectivity for everyone.

We are committed to fostering a cleaner, healthier environment by addressing littering and dog‑waste hotspots. Gobion Fawr Community Council will work in partnership with Monmouthshire County Council to identify solutions, encourage responsible behaviour, and maintain the beauty of our shared spaces.

Together, we strive to build a community that is safe, inclusive, environmentally responsible, and proud of its rural heritage—a place where people want to live, work, and belong.
